Who runs this site, and who shows up at your door
We're the team behind this site — we dug through every Orange County water district's reports so you don't have to. When you're ready, we connect you with a licensed, insured local installer we've vetted — they build your quote, answer your questions, do the work, and stand behind it with their own warranty. The same standards we'd want in our own house.
What this site is
OC Water Softener is an independent Orange County water treatment referral service. We publish each city’s water hardness from its supplier’s own annual water quality report, run the standard softener sizing calculation against it, and pass people who want the work done to a licensed local installer.
We are not the contractor. We do not hold the license and we do not carry the warranty. When you submit the form, your details go to our installation partner, Crystal Clear Water (Crystal Clear Water LLC), who call you to arrange the visit.
Our installation partner
Crystal Clear Water is the licensed team we work with on every job. Crystal Clear Water LLChas operated in Orange County since 2008 under CSLBlicense #872771, bonded and insured. We publish the water data and pass your enquiry to their crew; they run the site visit, size the system, install it, and stand behind the warranty.
Why we lead with the number
Almost every company in this category asks you to request a quote before telling you anything useful. That is backwards. Your water district already measures total hardness and prints it in a report every year, a report that many people do not read.
Putting the figure in front of you first costs us nothing and changes the conversation entirely: you arrive at the call already knowing whether the category is worth your money, and roughly what size unit the math points at. If the answer for your house turns out to be no, we would rather have you find that out here.
What we will not do
- Invent a price, a rating, a review count or a customer
- Publish a hardness figure we cannot trace to a water district document
- Mark up third-party review scores as our own structured data
- Sell your details on to anyone other than the installer doing the work
- Claim hard water is a health risk, because it is not
The reviews figure, and what it is not
The 5.00 out of 5 from 400+ reviews shown on this site comes from the installer’s Google Business profile. Google (opens in a new tab) We did not collect it and we do not host those reviews, which is exactly why it does not appear in this site’s structured data as an aggregate rating — marking up reviews you do not host is against Google’s guidelines, however common it is in this industry. It appears as attributed on-page proof instead.

In their own words
“I can see why they have so many 5 stars. Got to give credit where credit is due, CCW was amazing. Quick to quote, quick to answer and easy to schedule. They arrived right on the dot and got my water softener system running fast. The guys who came were all honest, professional and friendly. Set up my unit outside and it looked super clean. I shopped around and their pricing was by far the best for the best system (Clack). I already recommended them to my family and now my sister is looking to get a system done by them too. Loving my soft water so far, thanks Tony and team!”
“Tony is very professional and knowledgeable. I spent $98 on an inspection from another technician, but they couldn't figure out why my water softener wasn't working. Another company then quoted me nearly $2,500 to replace the circuit board, resin, and other parts. Tony spent about 45 minutes and fixed everything for just a little over $300. Highly recommended!!!!”
“We had a wonderful experience with Crystal Clear Water. Tony came out and gave us a quote for a water softener and RO system hookup. The quote was detailed, competitive, and included everything we needed to make sure the softener worked properly. When it came time to do the job, the team showed up on time and asked clarifying questions to make sure it was done the way we wanted it. Once everything was all hooked up, they walked me through what was done and how we needed to care for it. I really appreciated how detailed they were and the fact that I received a text when they were on their way that included a picture and the name of the technician that would be arriving.”
